TO ARMS! TO ARMS!

ALL ABLE-BODIED PERSONS WILLING TO TAKE ON THE PRIVATIONS OF REENACTING LIFE!

NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE PART IN OUR GROUP! UNITS ARE RECRUITING NOW TO FILL THE RANKS!

Welcome to the first steps you will take in becoming a reenactor. If you enjoy camping, enjoy the company of a family-friendly organization, and enjoy history, then this pastime is for you! We urge you to join the tens of thousands across the country, who similarly partake in our wonderful hobby every day. To take your first steps with us, here is what you need to do.

The first order of business will be to download three documents, the first being the Membership form, the second and third being the Safety Test and Safety Guidelines. Once these are filled out, you can send them via email to our webmaster here.

The first thing to know is that while the hobby can be quite expensive, especially for younger participants, we have an extensive amount of loaner gear that you can use while you are getting together your own set of gear. It is also important to check with one of our members as to which gear you should get or not, so as to avoid spending needlessly. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to join us at our monthly meetings, or at one of our many events throughout the year, both of which you can find on our calendar page.

Next is making sure to continue to foster your interest in Civil War history by looking up drill books, period regulations, and books covering the history, the people, and other related topics. With this in hand, you will be all the more able to answer the questions of the public, and to further the education and narrative of Civil War history!

You should also not worry about which unit to choose, as that is entirely up to you, and you have plenty of time to choose, if not taking part in several units! Just take a look here for the Union Brigade, Confederate Brigade, or Civilian Brigade. Again, we are a family-friendly group that looks forward to seeing new families join us on and off the battlefield! We have activities during our reenactments for both soldierly and civilian impressions to take part in. You can find out more about what typically goes on at our events, and get further info for signing up by visiting the brigade pages above.
